Broke Sky Gets IFC Release

Buzzard Films and Clan Cameron Cinema are proud to announce the Video On Demand premiere of the motion picture BROKE SKY, straight from its very successful festival run over the last two years. IFC Films has picked up exclusive distribution rights to the neo-noir, and will premiere the film on February 24, and will be available thru April 26, 2010. Well Hey everyone,
Its the end of the year. This has been an interesting year for all of us here at TMI. We went from losing a client at the beginning of the year, due to the economy, to having 6 TV shows in LA being pitched. Let me give you all a little update of the projects we have in play now..

First there is "Treasure Coast" (Reality Series)
Join the crew of the Gold Hound as it leaves the dock at Captain Hiram’s in Sebastian Florida. For more than 17 years, Greg Bounds has made a living scouring the ocean off the Brevard County shoreline finding trinkets and treasures left by ships that sailed hundreds of years ago. Dozen’s of ships bound for Spain with treasures from Mexico and South America sank chests of jewelry, coins, ceramic pottery and cannons remain unaccounted for.
Among the riches sought by Captain Greg are 36 boxes of church gold and 64 pounds of emeralds worth $1 billion. In 2007, he found $12.9 million worth of gold chains, pearls, coins, swords and other artifacts from the 400-year-old Santa Margarita site in the Keys. Last year, it was the top-grossing boat in the 1715 fleet.

Then there is "Urban Animals" (Reality Series):
Urban Animals. It is like ER, but for Animals, if set in Austin. Dramatic highs and lows. Life and Death moments. Touching acts of kindness. The zany antics of downtown denizens of the weirdest little city in Texas. For all their differences, Dr. Homburg and Dr. Biehle, share one thing in common for sure, their deep and abiding commitment to animals and their well being. They also share a wicked sense of humor. In their new venture, The Austin Urban Vet Center, they will face the many challenges that are to be expected as business owners, veterinarians, and business partners.

Then there is "Battle-X" (Reality Series)
Battle X is an action packed televised combat simulation and a social experiment that demonstrates and highlights the universal characteristics of leadership, compromise, ethics, courage, and determination. This phenomenon plays out across a series of situations and transitions that will challenge each contestant in ways not fully explored in any current reality program. A group of preselected contestant candidates will undergo a culture shock experience and be placed in random groups and will be compelled to work together to win.

Then there is "The General" (web series)
Larry gets more than he bargained for when a puppet calling himself "The General" responds to his Craig's List ad for a roommate and turns his life upside down. Follow the adventures of The General as he goes through roommates like normal people go through toilet paper, all the while searching for the ultimate good time regardless of who's toes get stepped on.

Then there is "Chad Vs. The Wall" (web series)
Chad Brewer is a normal guy with fears, unfortunately he has let his fears dictate his entire life, until today.... Chad vs. The Wall is a web series that shows that anyone can take down that "Wall" of fear and over come it.

Then there is "Emo's" (Reality Series)
What’s it like running one of the top music clubs in the country for up and coming bands? Frank’s Place, Emo’s is a reality show that takes viewers behind the scenes and behind the stage to show a world that’s always provocative, sometimes glamorous, and never dull.

So as you can see we have been super busy.. We are on hold till after the holidays, but hopefully Jan and Feb will bring TMI some good news.. Erin has ventured into new territory with Dr. Biehle; a direction best described as following her childhood dream - a new high-tech veterinary hospital and animal spa in the heart of Austin, Texas. TMI is proud to announce that it has 2 new reality shows going into the Promo stage of production. The first is "Urban Animals"

* The Moving Image Company is proud to present Dr. Erin Homburg and Dr. Greg Biehle in Urban Animals. A dramatic and lively look at the inner workings of their bold new adventure, The Austin Urban Vet Center. A light hearted yet sometimes contentious study in contrasts (old school/new school, male/Female etc.) The show will also examine the various aspects of this unique adventure. Urban Animals will feature the relationships the Doctors share with their patients and owners, including notable celebrities. Urban Animals will capture the eclectic, quirky, downright strange characters and culture that gave rise to the phrase, Keep Austin Weird.

The Second is "Battle X"

TMI is proud to present what could be the next hit reality show. Battle X. Combine elements of eco challenge, survivor, and the colony, then set that inside a milsim (military simulation) that plays like 24 meets full metal jacket. With state of the art paintball gear, smoke, fire, heart pounding excitement.

Its been a while between post.. I know... We have been super busy working on a TV series called "Treasure Coast". We went to Florida in August and shot footage for a promo we are showing to several networks. We have been in the edit suite for a little over 4 weeks now getting this thing hammered out. Hello and welcome back to the The Moving Image Company's Blog!
This is Robert Stewart, I am supposedly the CEO around here, which means I am older than everybody else, and no one wants to deal with contracts and negotiations!!

I am dropping this little note to let you know that TMI is growing, even in the down economy. So, while the last nine months have indeed been trying for the film community here in Central Texas, we see things beginning to turn around now.

Look for some great announcements from TMI in the next month. We are currently working with two different film companies, one in the east and one in the west, assisting them on the funding side as well as working on a new Documentary about environmental hazard facing American children. It looks like it will be a very powerful film.

We are also working feverishly on a new Reality show - I would love to tell you about it now, but then I would have to kill you.
I can tell you it involves....buried treasure!

Here is a little update on what is going on at TMI:

TMI is currently working on graphics and video production for Carl Cisneros who is running for Lockhart ISD School Board Trustee. You can see the site we built for him and we will post the campaign video and Site intro soon.

Saturday March 21st TMI gives back..

TMI President, Christian Cisneros, and VP, Richard Watson donated some time to helping a historical cemetery stay clean.

Cemetario Navarro Historico, in Lockhart TX has been marked as a state of Texas Historical Cemetery. With headstones as old as 1901 (of ones we can still read), this cemetery was left to nature and passers by. The Cemetario Navarro Historico Association was established in 2006 by a group of individuals that wanted to make a difference.

New Way To Blog...

So I bought a new video camera so that we at TMI could start doing video blogs. We wont be editing them just dumping the clips into a timeline and exporting to vimeo.com. here is our first from a trip to Houston to do some Radio Podcast (yes TMI also does Radio Podcast) for our Client IIR. "Rio De Sangre"

Just in case you didnt hear The Moving Image Company is proud to announce that they are starting Pre-Production on its first feature length film "Rio De Sangre". You can read the synopsis here.

Here is a little update on "Rio De Sangre".

We are about two thirds of the way done with the script, and very happy with it thus far. Richard Watson is spending sleepless nights on it.. I am currently casting the project so if any one is interested here are the people who are cast as of now..

Since this is a low-low budget we cant afford to pay everyone including ourselves but we do have 3 meals a day and hotels for everyone who can come out to work, and we are shooting the the beautiful west Texas desert. Think of it as a vacation.

***Important Info, we are shooting for 14 days in West Texas. Please keep that in mind when applying.***

We are in need of the following positions.

Grip Electric Swing - will assist our DP in lighting and setting up for shots, handling equipment

Make-up Artist (Practical and FX) - Will need to work on Bullet wounds, bloody faces bruises, and other action make-up.

Still Photographer - Production stills, marketing stills, everything

Behind the Scenes videographer - produce a behind the scenes documentary about the film and filmmakers. (you do not have to have your own camera, production has a canon XL2)

Production Assistants - Helping in the production, art, make-up, FX, behind the scenes, and other depts through out the production.

What would you do if the man you looked up to and idolized your entire life turned out not to be quite what you thought he was? Would you still follow the path he had put before you, even if it meant taking the life of a trusted friend, or would you go against the life your father had lead and risk it all to save your friend and yourself?

Danny started his day like every other day, making the rounds; collecting money that was owed to his employer, doing the thing his father had taught him his entire life. With his partner Bobby in the passenger seat, still showing him the ropes, Danny soon gets a crash course in the dangerous world his father had failed to tell him about. With Danny's friend now tied up in the back seat and his head full of contradictions and confusion, he must decide what direction his life will now take.

Will he continue on the path that has lead him to this crossroad, walking the thin red line between felonies and misdemeanors, or will he delve head on into the underworld that consumed his father and is now forcing him to make the decision of a lifetime.

The Director's Statement

The Trunk was a labor of love and dedication for several of us. It represented a challenge, what we could do with our talents in such a short amount of time and with limited budget. Well with three hundred dollars, three crew members, three cast members, and 12hrs of shooting we ended up with “The Trunk”. This story came together so quick, and just flowed like for some reason we were suppose to put this film on tape. The cast was so patient through the cold weather and long day they stuck by us and saw the whole thing through. I couldn't ask for a better bunch of actors. I also have to thank the post production crew, who came in to the project in a time of need. Joe Azzato took some amazing photos, so that we could have some great press content. Aaron Horne has spent night and day working on music and with a picky director to get just the right music, not too “Godfather”,and not too “Casino”. The bottom line is we proved to filmmakers out there that its not the camera you use, its the way you use it. I hope you enjoy the film.
